  I pulled over to take a phone call, and a man started swearing at me and called the police. Didn't even ask me to leave... Oh and they blocked the exit with a van so I couldn't leave.

  Growing up in the south as a lesbian woman, I've visited more than a few churches and I've grown accustomed to "Christians" in Baptist churches being homophobic, extremely judgmental and very hypocritical when someone who's a part of the LGBT community attend their church. I attended Emmanuel Baptist Church today and the only word that comes to my mind right now is W-O-W!! I felt a bit uneasy in the beginning because of the aforementioned reasons but I was greeted and welcomed with open arms! From the very beginning of service when the choir began to sing to when the Pastor began to take us to CHUCH, I soon felt right at home. My heart was heavy but when he began to deliver God's word, a weight was lifted off of my shoulders. Now, because today was my first visit, I have yet to get a feel for the congregation to know if they are truly genuine and welcoming as they came off to be but I am looking forward to returning next Sunday! Thank you Pastor Thompson for a wonderful service but most importantly for your prayer!

  Colorado Springs Pokemon Go Players--
  DO NOT approach Emmanuel Baptist Church on Vickers Drive. A woman in their parking lot stopped me, asked me if I was playing, then told me to get out because it's private property. I told her I understand, and asked if I disturbed anyone, to which she didn't answer. She proceeded to yell at me, threaten to "beat my ass," and smacked my car as I drove away.
  
  I understand that Pokemon Go might negatively be impacting certain locations, but this was the most offensive and non-Christian experience I've had playing this game.
  
  As a Christian myself, I've never been so appalled and attacked as I have been in their parking lot, simply trying to play a game.

  I found this church on youtube. I had the opportunity to worship with them on that Sunday. The worship was amazing. The warmth I felt from the staff was remarkable. I drove into the parking lot and the attendant acknowledge that I was a first time visitor. As he greeted me he walked me into the savoury and introduced me to a young women who welcomed with with a smile and open arms. From praise and worship until the benediction, I thought I was back in N.C at Monument of faith. I have attended every Sunday since...
